The Browse by Topic feature allows you to select a topic from a list and retrieve bills and regulations using a search created by research experts.

How do I use the Browse by Topic feature?

To use the Browse by Topic feature, follow these steps:

  1. Click Search at the top of any page, then click Browse by Topic in the upper-right corner of the page. A list of topics for which searches are available is displayed.

  2. Browse the list of topics by clicking folder names.

  3. To select a topic to search and display the search, click the topic name.

  4. By default, all jurisdictions are searched. To limit your search to one or more jurisdictions, click Change. Select one or more check boxes, the click Add to Search.

  5. Click Continue to retrieve recent bills and regulations relating to the topic you selected.

What is tree view?

While viewing the list of topics, click Tree View in the upper-right corner of the page to view the topics in outline format. Then click the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols to browse the list. To return to Web view, in which topics are arranged in folders, click Web View.
